The Best Moment of My Life

On August 13th, my placenta (I know, gross word) separated from my uterus causing me to hemorrhage. My husband describes the bathroom as a scene out of C.S.I. It was during the 5 minutes of waiting for the ambulance to arrive that I had the best moment of my whole life. It's weird how life works that way. I was losing all this blood and Chad was freaking out that I was dying, but all I could think about was how the baby wasn't moving. I was tapping my belly and whimpering, "Please MOVE." But there was nothing. I was sure we had lost him. The 911 operator told Chad to get me into the bathtub until the ambulance got there. I sat there with all this noise around me - Chad taking care of calling people to come get the children so he could go to the hospital - the 911 operator asking Chad questions - the blessed sound of sirens down the street - my own panicked heartbeat drumming in my ears.

And then he moved.

My tummy made a big jump and he rolled over. And I swear, I heard God whisper to me from the inside that everything was going to be okay. I had no idea if I was okay - but the moment I knew he was still alive - THAT was the best moment of my whole life.

Isn't God amazing? That in such scariness and uncertainty, that He gave you that moment? I'm so glad that you are both okay. I love you so much!
