Random Boy!!!!

We call our 7-year-old Random Boy. Sometimes we even sing it like you would sing Superman. It's his super-hero alter-ego. It's super in that he's so random it goes beyond simple human behavior. Here's a snippet of our most recent conversations:

Random Conversation #1

Random Boy: "Mom, do you know how to trick two babies?"
Mom: "No..." (expecting the punchline)
Random Boy: "Well, do you know how to trick one baby?"
Mom: "This isn't a joke?"
Random Boy: "No. And what if one of them gets up before the other."
P: (the older brother): "Raaaaaan-dom!!!"

Random Conversation #2

Mom: "What's the state flower?"
Random Boy: "Bluebonnet."
Mom: "What's the state tree?"
Random Boy: "Pecan!"
Mom: "What's the state song?"
Random Boy: "Texas, our Texas."
Mom (truly impressed at this point): "Good! Okay, this one's hard...What's the state dish?"
Random Boy: "Spoon!!!"
P: (the older brother): "Raaaaaan-dom!!!"

Random Conversation #3

Random Boy: "Mom, does Bohdi (our cat) know what kind of animal he is?"
P: ...stunned silence...

Here. Please enjoy these rare photos of Random Boy:

Not sure what was going on with Random Boy here.
Okay, this shot is pretty random of all of us...

Updated August 11th - Since the oldest brother has seen this post, I've had at least 2 phone calls from him with new stories. He starts the conversation by saying, "I have a new random moment for your blog..." Ahh, a blogger in the making!!!

Awwwww! I love Random Boy! (And your other adorable children.) I think I relate to him...people can't usually follow my train of thought, either!

Random Boy (my grandson) asked me a question the other day:

Muddy,

If you had made a bet and your grandchildren were the bet and you lost, what would you do?

Huh? My first thought was what in the heck do you mean, where did you hear something like that, and how do I answer this - all in milliseconds (and since I don't have to multitask so much anymore,) I had to come up with an answer pretty quick.

My answer seemed to satisfy him and life went on and he went back to his cartoons.
