I decided to take the two smallest kiddos to Chad's work today. Chad is a systems engineer. People in IT very often have 'geek toys' laying around their cubicles, which is great for entertaining kids when they are around. One colleague had two of these hanging on the outside of her cube...

My two-year-old promptly pointed at them and shouted (and I mean shouted), "I want to touch your monkey!"
I'm not making it up. I had more than three witnesses. There we all were, in a professional setting - reduced to giggling like 12-year-olds.
"TOUCH MY MONKEY!!!!"

As you know, R's favorite stuffed animal is a monkey. It has led to many similarly funny situations. :o)
I was just catching up on your blog yesterday & I read this posting. Then last night during our 5th grade parent meeting a little girl yelled out, "Do you want to play with my monkey?" I stopped talking midsentence & looked at her in disbelief. She was holding a little stuffed animal & offering it to another little kid. The parents probably thought I was annoyed that she interrupted the meeting, but really I was trying not to laugh.
